Meet the Hyspec Team: Tejan Conteh

Tejan Conteh, a Sierra Leonean national, graduated from the Government Technical Institute of Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 2001.
After graduating, he worked as electrical site Foreman in Sierra Leone, before joining Hyspec in January 2005 as hose technician, in Siguiri, Guinea. He was promoted to a workshop supervisor position in Kiniero, Guinea, in November of that same year. Between November 2005 and May 2012, he held diverse workshop supervisor positions within Hyspec in Guinea and Mali, before being promoted to Hyspec’s Managed Workshop in Tongon, Cote d’Ivoire, as workshop supervisor.
Tejan’s current role mainly consists in managing the Tongon workshop on a daily basis – from hose making to stock management ; conducting daily inspections on the customer’s mining equipment to help reduce downtime due to hydraulic hose failures ; assisting the customer with stock reorders ; training customer appointed technicians to make hoses according to Hyspec procedures ; and liaising with the customer and contractors on site on a daily basis to ensure that their requirements are met in a timely manner.
