Hyspec opens a new workshop at Nyamililima mine in Tanzania

On May 6th, Hyspec opened a new workshop at the Nyamililima Pit Geita gold mine site in Tanzania, also locally known as Star and Comet. The Nyamililima site, approximately 23 kilometers away from Geita Gold Mine, is a former GGM site, which closed down a year ago and is now being regenerated by Moolmans Mining Tanzania Limited.
The workshop, which will operate 24 hours / 7 days a week, is fully fitted with shelves, stock, work benches, tools for the fabrication of hoses, fittings and adaptors. It is backed with stock from Hyspec’s warehouse in Perth, Western Australia. Emergency stock can also be supplied from the Hyspec Mwanza and Hyspec Geita sites, or other regional warehouses.
“Hyspec has been a long time partner at most of the mines where we operate in Africa” says Hein Sneyman, Project Manager of Moolmans. “Throughout the years, they have demonstrated great professionalism. Hyspec’s constant efforts to anticipate on our needs and to develop innovative solutions to help us improve our production have made them our partner of choice for all our new projects in Africa.”
“With this new project, we intend to demonstrate even further our ability to be a premier partner to the mining industry, and to Moolmans group in particular”, says Zandre Joubert, Hyspec Branch Manager Geita and Star & Comet. “Even though we have only just started operations at Nyamililima, we are already thinking about developing new services to reduce downtime and improve the mine’s productivity as it develops”.
