Hyspec Implements a Zer0 Tolerance to Corruption Policy
As part of its Compliance programme, Hyspec requested from all of its employees that they adhere to, and sign, a Code of Business Conduct. Additionally, all new service provision contracts between Hyspec and its customers, now include the Hyspec Corporate Anti-Corruption and Bribery policy (or, in some cases, the customer’s own Anti-Corruption policy).
‘Hyspec employees and Representatives are expected to adhere to all of the laws and regulations that govern Hyspec’s conduct’, explains Jim Moran, Hyspec Mining Services Administration Director and Company Secretary. ‘Violation of the law by any Hyspec employee or Representative will not be tolerated. A violation of the law, or unethical behaviour, will be subject to immediate disciplinary action, which, in the case of employees, may include the termination of employment, or the termination of any association or business relationship in the case of Representatives.’
In order to reinforce its “Zero Tolerance to Corruption” message, Hyspec also recently received approval from Transparency International (www.transparency.org) to use their 2012 research data on the perceived level of public sector corruption around the world, for the production of posters in English and in French. The posters were signed by every Hyspec employee, including the Company Directors, and will be pinned on the walls of every Hyspec office and workshop in Africa and in Australia. Look out for them!
